Poor Boy by Matt Cameron and Tim Finn is a new play with songs about
two families whose fates collide through an inexplicable supernatural
occurrence.
The Prior family has never been able to move on from the death of
eldest son Danny seven years ago. His young widow Clare has not left her
dead husband’s family home, where she remains living with his mother
and brother, since the day they returned from the funeral. Across town,
the Glass family prepares to celebrate the birthday of their
seven-year-old son when he suddenly announces that he is in fact the
dead adult Danny. As the two families converge when the boy reveals
things he should never have known, the secrets of the living are as
threatening as those of the dead.
Poor Boy features familiar and new Tim Finn songs including I Hope I
Never, Persuasion, In a Minor Key and Poor Boy, sung live by the cast
and accompanied by a 5-piece onstage band. The haunting drama is
directed by Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical,
The 25th Annual Puttnam County Spelling Bee) and features Linda Cropper,
Matt Dyktynski, Sara Gleeson, Matthew Newton, Sarah Peirse, Greg Stone
and Abi Tucker.

10-04-09-Tims first gig at Byron Bay tonight went off. They played 'Made My Day' in the set, the first time in 26 years. Lets hope it becomes a regular on the set list. He also found time to pen a letter for the May Update, that will go out to club members in a few weeks. The 2nd Byron Bay gig is this Sunday 12th-onstage 5.45pm.

24-02-09-Expect to see Tim at the press conference (MCG) today for the upcoming SOUND RELIEF concert. Tim and the Enz boys will be playing at the Melbourne show (on March 14th at the MCG). All money raised goes to the Victorian Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. It's a massive lineup,which will include Midnight Oil, Liam Finn (and friends), Kings of Leon, Split Enz and many others. 4-9-06-Ok some much awaited dates. The first show on Tims World Tour will be at Sky City Theatre-Auckland NZ on October 6th. After that there will be some showcases in Australia (dates soon I promise)....October 20th will be London The Scala. These few dates are just hot off the press so the venues may not have any information on bookings yet.
4-9-06-Tims band- Matt Eccles from Betchadupa on drums, Mareea Paterson on Bass (she was in Tim's band last time round), Brett Adams-Guitar and also a keyboardist (which we will announce soon).

16-8-06-Tim back in Melbourne tonight to induct Daddy Cool into the ARIA 'Hall of Fame'.

12-8-06-Good news re: the bonus disc for the album. It will now be a 7 track bonus DVD that will come with some of the Imaginary Kingdom CDS.
7-8-06-Tim has also recorded a 7 track bonus disc and re-worked a few classics for the disc.Expect to hear '06 versions of 'Poor Boy', 'Time for a Change', 'I Hope I Never' , 'Not Even Close' , 'Need to be Right', 'Angels Heap' and 'How will you Go'. 'Time for a Change' has Mike Chunn playing the original acoustic guitar part and Jonathan from Mercury Rev adding his infamous 'saw' piece to the track).The recordings have also been filmed so there will be some extra footage that can be used from these sessions.

"Woodface 10 years on" - Tony Wadsworth,head of EMI and erstwhile head of Parlophone.Tony's a good guy and it's surprising how many good people are still with EMI/Parlophone UK.But yeah,it's not "FINN",but not Woodface either...but bodes well that Tony dug it....Neil and I now have to decide which tracks to cull, if any...I know,I know,16 is too many...but....we mixed 16 tracks with Tony V in London at Metropolis studios and they sound live and heated,not too tarted up but crisp and delicioso all the same...20 piece string orchestra on three tracks,amazing players in London of course, arguably the best in the world....Edible Flowers,Nothing Wrong With You and Homesick...Amongst the string players was Miles Golding who was in the first Split Enz with Phil,myself,Mike Chunn and Mike Howard,but you knew that?Anyway,can't wait to wrap it all up and take it on the road...working title "ANYWAYHOME"....love from Tim."

1-10-03-Tim & Neil took some time off from mixing in the U.K. to party on at actor Sam Neill's house.The Finns performed a few songs.Irish born, Melbourne based Andy White sooned joined Tim for a version of ALT's 'Penelope Tree'.Andy White currently in the U.K. promoting his 'Tell me Why' EP.
16-9-03-Australian Finn Fans expect to see Tim & Neil (and Crowded House) interviews/footage on the 'Love is in the Air'-(ABC TV )series.It starts October 12th and will also be available on DVD later on in the year. Crowded House will be on Episode #4, and there will be Tim & Neil interviews on Episode #5.

23rd August 2002-Looks like Tim will be touring New Zealand in October, and Australia after that. Dates are still being worked out, as soon as we have them they will go up on this board.
21st August 2002-Tim will be playing at 'Craggy Range Winery' (Hawkes Bay) N.Z. on Jan.25th 2003. It's under the banner 'An evening with our giants'- & will feature Tim, Dame Kiri Tekanawa ,Sir Edmund Hillary,& the Auckland Philharmonic orchestra.

11th July 2002-Auckland-NZ fans expect to see Tim have a signing at the wonderful REAL GROOVY RECORD store in August. The date has not been locked in yet, we will let you know the moment it is. There are some dates going around the internet for Tims musical FEEDBACK at the Sydney Opera House- these dates are incorrect, so please ignore them. It will be on next year and confirmed dates will go up here first.So if they are not on this board-they are probably not correct.

included the honourable patriarch Richard George Finn,actor Sam Neill OBE,painter Shane Cotton, set-designer Robert Jahnke,and legendary table-cloth embroiderers Dotty and Gladys[they have a table-cloth that since the 40's they have been getting famous people to sign and then they go over the ball-point with red cotton.....names include Winifred Atwell,Gary Glitter and Ray Wolf,now Tim Finn and Sam Neill....kind of like the plaster casters but in a Mumsy way...].Anyway,the next port of call for this cool show is probably gonna be the Sydney Opera House,either in August or Feb.
Want to say thanks for all the B.Day messages. Feeding the Gods is still going strong.I'm going to do some more shows in Australia and NZ soon. Probably as a duo,me and Capt Ian Greenstreat,guitars only, hopefully teaming up with Greg Hitchcock in Sydney, playing mainly new songs and talking a lot,building up to a talking only tour next year,goodbye for now

7th June 2002-'Well the big news is that 'Feedback' (Tim's first musical-PG) is opening tomorrow night here in Palmerston Nth. Rehearsals have gone very well,our three cast members are Madeleine Sami,Steve Tofa and Matt Dwyer, & the band is the Dirty Creatures.Should be amazing,I'm very excited.Obviously this is a huge departure for me,something I've wanted to do for 20 yrs or so....meeting writer Toa Fraser was the key.His previous work includes Bare and No 2......both have toured internationally....bye,Tim.'
1st June 2002-'Feeding the Gods'- debuts at #32 on the New Zealand Top 100 album charts.
29th May 2002-Tim currently rehearsing with Neil for the Finn Bros Auckland shows-Enz member Eddie Rayner also at rehearsal and Betchadupa's Matt Eccles on the drums. The 2nd St.James show is very close to selling out , a handful of tickets available. May 31st/June 2nd.
28th May 2002- "Hi Deb,thanks for setting up this new information site.Reaction to "feeding the gods" has been outstanding to date so hopefully some good stuff will flow through.Certainly I have been playing a lot more shows recently and with my killer new band "the Dirty Creatures" expect to keep that up.So again,a great year so far and thanks for offering to keep the fans in the loop,regards,Tim Finn."
27th May 2002-FEEDING THE GODS released today in N.Z. NZ Herald also has a FIVE ***** review. 'I'll never know' will be a radio-only single for N.Z. Tim will be performing with Neil at the Finn Bros Hooley (St James Auckland) on May 31st and June 2nd. May 31st now sold out- but some tickets will be available at the door. June 2nd show selling fast.
26th May 2002 -Five ***** star review for Tim's FEEDING THE GODS in the Melbourne-Herald Sun. 'A thunderous return to form from one of Australasia's rock pioneers'.
